KATY STERRAN - Artistic Director

Katy Sterran is Artistic Director of Flexus Dance Collective and Sterran Dance and Associate Artist at arena Theatre, Wolverhampton. From the West Midlands, Sterran founded FDC in 2003, building its profile on her vision to provide high quality provision for creativity, training, performance and engagement, nurturing the talent of dancers throughout Education, early careers and the professional sector.  

Sterran’s choreographic career spans over two decades, developing a reputation for innovative theatrical, cross-art form works that challenge what it means to engage and connect with Contemporary Dance in the 21st Century. 

Sterran is passionate about her work with Young People, holding over 20 years of outstanding practice in Education and the Dance sector, building a national reputation for her ability to inspire, empower and push the possibilities of Youth Dance, achieving Professional standards out of young artists. 


JADE BARTON - Managing Director

Jade started her journey with Flexus Dance Collective as principle Dancer of the founding company in 2003. After graduating from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Jade continued her performance career with numerous companies including Motionhouse and James Wilton Dance. Returning to Flexus in 2015, Jade is now Managing Director of FDC co-ordinating and managing projects, platforms, performances, events, and tours, with a focus on nurturing the next generation of artists. 

Overseeing the Youth Sector of Flexus Dance Collective, Jade has a repertoire of outstanding works and contributes to the organisations extensive Youth and Education programmes. Her quality and relevance as a leading practitioner in the Youth sector is augmented by her position as a Teacher of Dance in Secondary Education. 

As an established performer in Sterran Dance Theatre, the professional company of FDC, Jade premiered ‘AATF’ in 2022 and was programmed for B2022 Festival Sites and at the NEC for Sport Side presentation at the Commonwealth Boxing Games & Finals. 


MOLLY HOLMES - Events Co-ordinator & Creative Learning Artist 

Moll is an Associate Director and Professional Dance Artist for Flexus Dance Collective, starting her training within the Flexus Youth Sector in 2008.  After completing 5 national tours with Sterran Touring company as a principle dancer, Moll started her artistic work with FDC choreographing for the feeder youth companies.  

Graduating with a First Class Honors Degree in Contemporary Dance and Creative Practice, Moll is now a Professional Dancer in Sterran Dance Theatre and is an influential choreographer and teacher in the youth and outreach sector of FDC. Moll has an infectious passion and drive to inspire and nurture the creativity of younger dancers and performers, alongside her own professional performance career.

MERSADIES MORGAN -  Creative Learning Artist  

Mersadies is an Associate Director of Flexus Dance Collective and an established Dance Artist with Sterran Dance Theatre, starting her training with FDC in 2009 as part of the organisation’s flagship youth company, Sterran Touring. Following 3 years as a principle dancer, Mersadies has been developing her artistic work with FDC since 2017 as co-choreographer and Rehearsal Director, playing an influential role in the creation of company works.  

Graduating with a First Class Honors Degree in Contemporary Dance and Creative Practice, Mersadies is passionate about her work and her ability to inspire and guide the creativity of others, contributing significantly in the delivery of workshops and opportunities in the community and educational sector of the organisation, augmented by her position as a Teacher of Dance in Secondary Education.

DANI CAMPBELL - Administration / Cultural Learning & Participation Officer 

We are over the moon to announce Dani Campbell as FDC’s new Cultural Learning and Participation Officer. Danielle’s dance journey started with FDC, trained by and performing with Sterran Dance companies. She has continued into various administration, marketing, fundraising roles & work with young people through Dance & Theatre. Danielle’s passion, integrity & drive is going to be a credit to our organisation & the work we do.
